Meet Dr. Mars

Dr. Rick Mars attended Emory University for his undergraduate education, continuing on to Georgetown University School of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He has practiced patient-centered dentistry in the Miami area for over 20 years and enjoys the relationships he has built with his family of patients. Most importantly, he loves to work with everyone from our terrific patients to our amazing team at the Dental Care Group.

Dr. Mars is active with the Aventura Marketing Council Chairman’s Roundtable, Beth Torah Congregation as President, Michael Ann Russell Jewish Community Center as a Board Member, and is a former Board Member of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. He has also been a Little League Baseball and Youth Basketball Coach for the last 14 years.

Dr. Mars and his wife, Alison, have been married since 1990. They have three sons, Zachary, Blake, and Cory, who they are very proud of. They also have a Tibetan terrier named Rocky. In his free time, Dr. Mars enjoys playing tennis, running, working out, and traveling.

Meet Dr. Glicksman

For over 30 years, I have made it my mission and source of pride in providing my patients the most comprehensive and caring dentistry available. My philosophy has always been such that those who come to see me are people first and then patients. This is why I treat each patient uniquely and design their treatment entirely around their needs and desires. Spending so much care on individualizing treatment plans for my patients is one way that I can ensure that they each receive the best treatment without having finances be an influence. My care for my patients goes beyond their smiles, and I have dedicated my life’s work towards putting my patients’ health and happiness foremost in mind.

Education and Continuing Education

I completed my undergraduate education at Indiana University and then enrolled into Loyola Dental School in Chicago where I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Staying at the cutting edge of dentistry has always been such an important part of my dental career, as it enables me to provide my patients with the benefits of the rapid advances in treatments and technology. This is why I have participated in 30-40 hours of continuing education each year since 1981.

Outside the Office

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and have had the pleasure of calling South Florida home for 30 years. With my profession, I have made so many wonderful and lasting relationships with the fine members of this community, and I am incredibly thankful for the experiences, dental and otherwise, I have been able to share with them.

At home, I have two beautiful daughters and a loving wife, Avra. When I am not in the office, I enjoy reading, traveling, and finding snow in the winter for skiing.

Meet Dr. Modesto

I got my dental degree at University Of Uberlandia, Minas Gerais, Brazil at a very young age,22 years old, but very mature in pursuing the career that I had always been passionate about. Starting up was not easy but with a helping hand of my professor and mentor, I became a partner in his dental office working there for 3 years. As life never runs in a straight line, a big swing brought me to the USA and that big change that scared me at first, opened up a broad horizon to my career. Starting over was not easy but I studied my way to get a position at University of Florida Dental School where I completed all the requirements to get licensed in the U.S as well as a residency in General Dentistry at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL.

My passion for dentistry goes beyond fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures. It stands for promoting total health and wellness of my patients making them realize that their mouth is the gateway to their total health. Continue education is a must in my crusade, being updated with the newest technology in dentistry make me provide the best for my patients.

Life wouldn’t be complete without my beloved husband and my adorable little girl. Family is the most important root in my growth thru life and without them I wouldn’t realize how blessed I am in having it all, a career that I am passionate about and a family that makes me the happiest person in the world. Cooking and traveling fascinate me and they are my favorite hobbies. I would be definitely a good chef if I had not fallen in love with dentistry first.

Meet Dr. Bui

Dr. Baokhoi Bui received his formal dental education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, in both the School of Pharmacy and the School of Dentistry. He completed his residency in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Bui continues to update his education through courses specific to endodontics in order to provide his patients with the most effective treatment options. He is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontics.

It is Dr. Bui’s goal to help his patients retain their natural teeth whenever possible. He finds it very satisfying to treat fearful patients and show them that endodontic treatment, root canals is particular, can be completely painless.

Dr. Bui is a native of Buffalo, NY, and has lived in Fort Lauderdale for the past six years. He has two daughters who he loves to spend quality time with, especially when they’re at the beach, kayaking, and biking.

Meet Dr. Shullman

Dr. Howard Shullman is a lifelong resident of South Florida. He was born and raised in Miami. He received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Florida and, eager for four more Gator football seasons, stayed in Gainesville to complete dental school. He practiced general dentistry, focusing on the treatment of children, in Tampa, then completed his orthodontic training at NOVA Southeastern University’s College of Dentistry, where he was the Chief Resident for the Department of Orthodontics in his final year.

Dr. Shullman is an active member in good standing of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists and the South Florida Academy of Orthodontics. Dr. Shullman lives in Lake Worth with his wife Deanna, and their daughters, Maddie, Emma and Kate. When not spending time with family or patients, he enjoys hiking, golfing, skiing and water sports.

Meet Dr. Fien

Dr. Matthew J. Fien received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his doctorate degree from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He completed post graduate training in the specialty of Periodontology at Nova Southeastern University and is Board Certified by the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Fien has presented at several dental meetings and has authored multiple articles that have been published in the dental literature. (See below for a list of publications and presentations). Dr. Fien is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Born and raised in South Florida, Dr. Fien enjoys playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Fien is married and he and his wife are expecting a baby boy!

Meet Dr. Socher

Dr. Ari Socher was born and raised in New Jersey. After earning his Bachelor in Science degree in Biology at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst he pursued his aspirations of becoming a Dentist and completed his DMD degree at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he graduated with honors. Dr. Socher completed his Post-Graduate training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL where he received his General Practice Residency certificate focusing on General Dentistry, Implantology and facial trauma.

Prior to joining The Dental Care Group Dr. Socher worked in private practice for 3 years in Northern Virginia and was active in community outreach as well as volunteering as a mentor for local high school students interested in a career in Dentistry. Dr. Socher is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the local Chamber of Commerce. Priding himself on staying on top of the latest in Dentistry, he has earned continuing education certificates in Cosmetic Dentistry, Veneers, Advanced Oral Rehabilitation and Painless Dentistry Techniques. When he is outside the office he enjoys exercise, watching football, fishing, listening to music and spending quality time with his family and English Bulldog.

Claudia Gibson
Dental Hygienist

I am very passionate when it comes to educating my patients on improving their oral health. It is very exciting when I see a patient’s health improve because of what they learned from our visit. Dental hygiene is all about health and wellness of the mouth, and of the entire body as well. I am proud to provide such an important service to those in my community. I am a home body, so I love spending time with my two daughters and our dog, Coby. I volunteer my cooking skills for the middle and high school track meets and stay active with spinning classes.

Dental Hygienist

I am one of our dental hygienists here at our amazing dental care group facility. I am always friendly, optimistic, and dedicated to making sure you have a comfortable, stress-free dental visit. I love the fact that I change people’s lives by promoting good health and self confidence, and creating bright smiles that last a lifetime. I am a happy mother of one daughter and the wife of a loving husband. We also have a Maltese named Richie. I love watching movies, am a voracious reader, and I dance every chance I get.

I am very passionate about what I do and consider myself extremely fortunate to be in a position where I am able to help people everyday. I take pride in my work and in my relationships with our patients. I am lucky to be surrounded by a staff of professionals that not only care for our patients well being, but also about educating them along the way.

Every day is full of new challenges that I openly embrace, as I am always looking to gain knowledge or encounter something new. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my amazing (and very big) family and close friends. They are my biggest blessing and have given me the morals and foundation that make me proud of who I am today.

My happy place is by the ocean and I try to spend as much time on or by the water as possible. I love music, cooking, traveling, a good read and my biggest fan is my yorkie, Tinkerbelle.
